Ricardo Rufio Nater was born on OCT 30, 1988 in Manati, Puerto Rico. Moving to Trenton, New Jersey after a few months with his mom and sister. Being the 2nd oldest of 7 he strived to be the best role model he could for his younger siblings. He turned to performing arts, poetry, drawing, playing the saxophone and dancing where he found his true passion. He started dancing Salsa with his family and friends at family parties and in school at the age of 12. But there was something about the flavor of New York style Salsa that he couldn’t let go, picking up other dance styles along the way from hip hop to ballroom dancing. At the age of 16 he started teaching Salsa and Cha-Cha. But a year later his life would take a big turn when he joined the United States Army National Guard.
Two years later he moved to Florida still serving his country but continuing his passion for dancing. He started teaching at U4ria Dance studios in the summer of 2008. In late summer of 2009 his unit got activated to go to Iraq and was deployed over seas in 2010. Never abandoning his true passion he continued to teach soldiers how to dance on his spare time. Returning as an OIF combat veteran in 2011 he is focusing most of his time in becoming a great Salsa dancer and instructor. Learning all sorts of new styles to better himself and bring what he knows to those who are open to learn.
